For Soil Gas and Indoor/Ambient Air Sampling, the Choice is Clear!

Beacon Environmental’s Passive Air Samplers are proven to be the clear choice over air canisters.
The Benefits of Beacon's Samplers
Samples are collected over a period of days or weeks to provide a time-weighted average measurement
Passive samples are collected in steady-state conditions and are more representative of actual soil gas concentrations than when a vacuum is applied to the sampling hole with an evacuated canister
Soil gas concentrations vary and long duration samples are less likely to miss contamination as opposed to a sample collected over a matter of minutes or hours, which may be during a period when the soil gas concentration is low or non-detectable (ND)
Sorbent samplers are thermally conditioned to be devoid of contaminants between uses, while canisters are difficult to clean and prone to cross contamination from one sampling event to another
Analyses uses TD-GC/MS instruments by Method TO-17 with low concentrations in the pptv range possible
Passive samplers have no mechanical parts and do not require helium shrouds, helium tanks, and other equipment required with active soil gas sampling
Passive samplers are small and easier to use in the field and require less time and labor to collect a sample
When temporary vapor wells are created to collect an active soil gas sample, the sample is collected after an equilibrium period (typically 1 day or more)
Beacon provides color isopleth maps as part of the data deliverable package for interpretation of the data
