Mr. Harry O'Neill
BEACON was founded in 1999 by Mr. Harry O’Neill. As the company president, Mr. O’Neill has managed soil gas and vapor intrusion investigations for more than 30 years, working on federal, state, and commercial projects throughout the United States, as well as internationally supporting projects in over 45 countries and all seven continents.
Since then, Beacon Environmental has achieved DoD ELAP QSM 5.4, NELAP, and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for the analysis of soil gas and air samples to target trace concentrations of organics using sorbent samplers.
In addition, Mr. O’Neill oversaw the implementation of the quality program that enabled Beacon to become the first NEFAP accredited field sampling and measurement organization (FSMO) in the United States, and the company’s accreditation is for the collection of soil gas and air samples.
Mr. O’Neill has been at the forefront of the acceptance of passive sampling technologies at the national and international level and has managed the implementation of thousands of soil gas and air sampling surveys.
Harry O’Neill is a founding member of the Association of Vapor Intrusion Professionals (AVIP)and was selected to be the lead author of the ASTM Standard for Passive Soil Gas Sampling that was approved on December 1, 2011.
