The US EPA released in August 2015 an Engineering Issue Paper titled, Passive Samplers for Investigations of Air Quality: Method Description, Implementation, and Comparison to Alternative Sampling Methods.
This comprehensive guidance provides details on how to design and implement a passive sampling program, types of samplers that can be used, data quality objectives, how to interpret passive sampling results, the current challenges and research needed to further this effective sampling approach, and provides a list of references including two journal articles describing research completed by Beacon.
Beacon continues to further the understanding and capabilities of passive sampling techniques by working with sorbent manufacturers, university researchers, and practitioners.
